Two Doctors, One Shared Mission – To Help

July and the beginning of August was a truly special time at Katondwe Mission Hospital. We were privileged to welcome two outstanding medical specialists to our team – Dr. Monika Krzyżanowska, anesthesiologist and Dr. Joanna Niemunis-Sawicka, radiologist. Both arrived with what is most valuable in medicine: knowledge, experience, and a genuine willingness to help.From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank Dr. Monika Krzyżanowska and Dr. Joanna Niemunis-Sawicka for their time, dedication, professionalism, and kindness.

From her very first days, Dr. Monika Krzyżanowska became an invaluable support to the entire operating theatre team. She ensured patients' safety during surgical procedures, supported the medical staff, and generously shared her knowledge and experience with the local team. Her professionalism and openness made her an irreplaceable presence not only in the operating room but also in the daily life of the hospital. Visits like hers leave behind much more than completed work—they build relationships, strengthen the team's skills, and inspire confidence for the future.
Dr. Joanna Niemunis-Sawicka's stay was equally productive. From day one, she dedicated herself to performing ultrasound examinations, helping diagnose numerous patients. Every ultrasound examination is of immense value, often determining the course of treatment and significantly increasing a patient's chances of recovery.

However, Dr. Joanna's visit brought one more extraordinary gift. Thanks to her initiative and the generosity of her friends, Katondwe Mission Hospital received an invaluable donation—a portable ultrasound machine.

We are equally grateful to everyone who joined Dr. Joanna in making the purchase of the portable ultrasound machine possible. It is yet another reminder that helping does not end when you return home—its impact remains with us every day, bringing hope and better care to future patients.
