Doctor Ula and doctor Sara in Katondwe

For three weeks, we are hosting in Katonde Mission Hospital doctor Ula Dryja (a paediatrician) and doctor Sara Woźniak (an anaesthesiologist). The doctors have their hands full right from day one, when comprehensive assistance was needed during a c-section followed by full care for the new-born baby. Ula works in paediatrics field all the time, while Sara is deeply engaged in anaesthesiologic tasks. They complement each other in their work. We have received some medicines and small equipment from them.

Sara teaches sister Edyta to apply neural blockades under ultrasound, which allows us to e.g. painlessly change dressings in the case of serious wounds and to entirely eliminate post-traumatic pain. It is crucial every time a stronger painkiller is needed.

We are very lucky, that Ula and Sara are with us now, sharing their knowledge and experience.
