The activities of the Afriquia Foundation, which is friendly with us, are not only medical assistance, but also building awareness of those in need. Mr. Bartłomiej Osadnik, MD, the president of the Foundation, was recently a guest on Dzień Dobry TVN (a popular Polish morning show), where he talked about our work and the challenges we face. Thanks to this, we can reach a wider audience and encourage them to support our activities.
Mr. Osadnik told about the case of a boy bitten by a cobra. It took a month for the boy to reach our hospital after the incident. He was already in a state of direct danger to his life. Such cases are a daily occurrence here. We talk about them to show the gap between Central Africa and Poland in terms of access to medical care.
However, we always wonder what else we can do to help these people. The last two years of our cooperation with the Afriqua Foundation have resulted in the construction and equipping of a professional and modern orthopedic operating room in our hospital. Our next goal, which Mr. Osadnik mentioned in his interview, is to create a rehabilitation department.
To comprehensively care for people requiring orthopedic intervention, we need to keep them longer. The convalescence process is always quite tedious. We often encounter the fact that our patients, fearing fees for medical services, do not want to use our help. We treat for free. We know that these people cannot afford any fees. But each of us can help them, even by supporting us financially, for which we are extremely grateful.
The interview with Dr. Osadnik can be watched on the Dzień Dobry TVN website.

In January, the main edition of Fakty TVN (TV news) also featured a report on hospitals supported by the Afriqua Foundation. In it, editor Marek Nowicki spoke, among others, about wonderful heroes – Polish doctors supporting us with their work, experience, and training our staff. This is something that cannot be overestimated.
There is always something to be done in our facility. If you want to come and actively support us, please contact us. Together we can do much more.
