Many surgeries, lots of consultations

Our guests always join the activities of Katondwe Mission Hospital with great commitment and actively support us in bringing medical assistance to all patients. This visit is not different. The gynaecological and surgical team, which arrived to Katondwe from Poland, have so far performed a number of surgeries and treatments of adult patients (numerous gynaecological treatments, as well as breast abscess incision and drainage, appendectomy, open biopsy with abdominal wall tumour removal, urological examinations, transrectal examination under anaesthesia) and of kids (such as orchiopexy, removal of a foreign body from an ear, catheterization of a bladder under anaesthesia).

In total, throughout their stay, their works is to include 12 operating days, over 60 gynaecological consultations with ultrasound examination, and 40 massages. It needs to be mentioned that although the schedule is busy, the team always performs out-of-schedule life-saving activities in emergency situations (postpartum haemorrhages, urgent c-sections), without hesitation.

The spectrum of diseases and ailments of patients visiting Katondwe Mission Hospital is significant. Women in Africa suffer from numerous reproductive system diseases. They need adhesiolysis, curettage, cyst removal, leiomyoma removal, sometimes uterus resection or total hysterectomy. Thanks to our guests, we managed to solve some of these problems. We are deeply thankful for that!

Our dream is to provide such help permanently. That’s why we are trying to take the rank of Katondwe Mission Hospital one step higher and we are doing all we can to bring here standing, qualified medical staff with various specialisations.
