Our mission is continuing. Thanks to the commitment of many people, local residents can count on professional treatment. The last six months have only emphasized how much good can come from a strong spirit of solidarity and a willingness to help others.
Together we can do more Despite the continued growth of the facility, the needs of the local community are still overwhelming at times.
Every day, the entire medical staff works beyond their capacity to save lives and help patients
With limited resources, often without access to modern equipment, we struggle with diseases that are already rare in many countries.
Constantly battling shortages of supplies, medicines and equipment makes any help of enormous importance to us. Volunteers and international organizations are the ones who play a key role in the hospital's work. Thanks to the people who visited us this year, we can continue our mission of providing free medical services to all those in need with a smile on our lips.
6 months full of good
Over the past 6 months, we were visited by many wonderful people, thanks to whom even more good things happened. We are grateful to everyone who has supported our work in any form. In January, orthopedic surgeons from the Afriquia Foundation installed an X-ray machine to take intraoperative images, our gem of a surgical room. Mr. Ireneusz, who arrived at the same time, installed a new dental camera. The machine serves Mr. Mwale Francis, who helps patients all day. We also opened a new Neonatology, Sister Immaculata joined the team, and the TVN station aired a story about our daily life. In March, we were visited by nurses from Gdańsk - Hanna and Marta. The volunteers worked regardless of the time, assisting with surgeries no matter the specialty: from obstetrics and gynecology to orthopedics, general and oncology surgery. In April, a real miracle happened! In the hospital, triplets were born. The little ones are bravely battling for health with the help of doctors and nurses. In turn, the slightly older children were watched over by Sister Marta, a special educator. We also recently celebrated a new anesthesia machine from the Zambian Ministry of Health. Now doctors can monitor the patient's condition during surgery, taking even more care to ensure safety.
We would like to thank all the organizations and volunteers without whom the hospital could not operate as effectively as it does now. Your sacrifice fills us with hope that together we will save many more lives.
