Our hospital is located in the heart of beautiful subtropical Africa. However, Katondwe is not only an idyllic picture and exotic landscapes, but also the "mundane daily life" – difficult living conditions, road accidents, serious illnesses or attacks by wild animals. Despite all the obstacles, such as lack of funds or the unfavourable climate, there is always room for sincere joy and friendliness in our everyday life. At the end of July and beginning of August, Dr Dariusz Bednarski, an anaesthesiologist, joined the team at Katondwe Mission Hospital.
He not only did an excellent job, but also became a valued part of our team. He worked closely with our staff, shared his knowledge and experience, and every day gave something that cannot be measured in numbers: his time, his expertise, and his willingness to help.
