Christmas is near. It’s a time of miracles, hopes and wishes. We also have many plans on how to improve our hospital and one of these big dreams is coming true as the building of a radiology block has jus started! This is wonderful and long awaited news for the staff and patients of the Katondwe Hospital.

We will finally be able to provide more accurate diagnostics, which means quicker and better help for more people in need from the Luangwa region.

The execution of this great project wouldn’t be possible without the help of donators. We’d like to thank the Pro Spe Foundation for working with us to improve our hospital. Thanks to the funds raised from the project and the 1.5% tax payments, together we were able to obtain the amount of money sufficient to start the building of the new unit dedicated to diagnostic imaging. That way our patients will get the professional, quick and effective treatment.

The beginning of the construction had an official character and even the Polish Ambassador from Pretoria, Mr. Adam Burakowski, and his deputy, Dr. Iwona Jabłonowska were present during this profound moment. This crucial visit marked the finalisation of the investment, and the construction work has just started in full swing. Additionally we took part in a meeting with Chief Mburuma together with the embassy representatives.

However, this official beginning of construction does not mean that our work is done. Instead, we still have plenty to do, including controlling the next stages of the project and making sure that the investment meets the requirements for health care facilities, which will ensure the safety of patients who seek help here in Katondwe.

The construction of the radiology block is an important milestone and a step forward in the development of our hospital. But above all, this project gives a chance to save the health and lives of more patients coming to Katondwe. We would like to thank all our donors, collaborators and friends for their support in fulfilling this great purpose.

Thanks to you, miracles happen and dreams come true!
